    The far superior Crossbow

It escapes imagination that anyone would still shoot a bent stick when they could be using an actual crossbow. featured in many robin hood movies, (including the one where Kevin Costner showed his ass) the crossbow is a definite upgrade to it's poor ignorant cousin.

I shoot an Excalibur Exomax. I stole it. No really. I bought it from a widow and it came with a bunch of extras including a tree climber. If you added up what the bolts and broadheads cost, plus what I sold the tree climber for, I probably gave about $50-100 for the Exomax.

It shoots 355fps. And I love it............. that is all.

I probably have less to contribute here than archery, but fear not, I do have a monkey

Compounds can shoot further than crossbows.

Jackals are great for the money. Barnett is an excellent brand and not crazy expensive. Plus they are made in Florida. Nice to still be making something and not importing it.....

I think it's nice that you have a thread of your own.
                        I don't know.

I have a good book about the history of firearms, that discusses the rise of the crossbow in the first chapter.
Did you know that England forbade the use of crossbows or allowing troops that were armed with crowssbows from stepping foot on English soil. Crossbows, were the first true threat to the code of the Knights, since even a lowly serf could now take down a Knight.

In fact it was the advent of the crossbow that did in the Knights.
