Skully mentione being on a site in '99. Wondered what sites and what year folks found a prepping or survivalist community.
I was on a disaster relief chat page on 2001. It was all people,who worked in the field. Couple years after that I found Xcolony and lurked.

I ran out of toilet paper, paper towels, and Kleenex back in 1994. I realized I couldn't let that happen again. Got on newsgroups the next day. The rest is history. Alt.discussions.prepping.asswipe was born.

I started with hunting, fishing, camping, edible/medicinal wild plants and survival skills books before I found the interwebs.

Since I found the web I just spend my time chatting, listening to tunes and surfing for porn.

I used to log-in to a few Survivalist stand-alone BBS's back in the 90's....still 2400 Baud Dial-Up, LMFAO......Frugal Squirrel's, IIRC, was one of them.....ASG had a web site for a while, it went tits-up in short order....Oh, and Backwoods Home Magazine has a pretty good site, has developed a liberal bent of late......

Since the Internet Boom, SB (joined September '09) and a few others, mostly gleaning old Army FM's and various weapons boards for me.....
