    Fall Hunting Brags 2015-2016

How goes your hunting season? Let's post some pics if you have them. I'm curious how folks are doing this season.
Give a man a match, & he'll be warm for 20 seconds. But toss that man a white phosphorus grenade and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

I had a horrible season. Lots of people around here did. The last two years we've had hard winters and lots of folks are saying that they are seeing very few 3-4 year old deer.

I shot bambi a couple weeks ago, I am going out for thumper in the morning. Been a really slow season, and others locally concur.

I have 3 does and a nice hog. I'll try to post pics later. I use QDMA standards at my clubs and I usually end up with the culls.

I am hesitant to post pics and cause offense....

14 pigs this weekend... yes, the meat was harvested and portioned out to the hunters.

I will be out the next two weekends too.

I want to explain so I don't take unearned credit.

I am really lucky to be allowed to volunteer my time with a group that takes combat wounded veterans hunting and fishing and any other outdoor stuff. I didn't kill any of the above. I just assisted on the hunt.

It is simply the best thing I have ever been privileged to be a part of in my life.

*And the meat IS harvested and portioned out to the vets.

Dude, that is what we gots. The deer are small, and most land is private. So it is hard to get access to deer, turkey or bear. But if you want to hunt your own meat, a lot of people will beg you to keep the wild invasive pigs from tearing up their farms and native lands. Wild pig is a much leaner meat than farmed. The older boars are nasty tasting though. You can still make sausage up to a point. But sometimes you are just removing the breeder to try to control the population and therefore damage.....

What state are you in? I don't know why there aren't wild pigs up here, they must not be able to survive the winters.

He is in the glorious South. But seriously, the wild hog is the most dangerous animal we can come up on in the woods.

I messed up on the count. It was 14 the first night, and 5 the second night. So 19 total. Only one hunter didn't get at least one.

I like to take the sows. The meat is better and you take out a breeder.
