I had a horrible season. Lots of people around here did. The last two years we've had hard winters and lots of folks are saying that they are seeing very few 3-4 year old deer.Last edited by TheRabbit; 12-19-2015, 10:09 PM. -

I am really lucky to be allowed to volunteer my time with a group that takes combat wounded veterans hunting and fishing and any other outdoor stuff. I didn't kill any of the above. I just assisted on the hunt.
It is simply the best thing I have ever been privileged to be a part of in my life.
*And the meat IS harvested and portioned out to the vets.

Dude, that is what we gots. The deer are small, and most land is private. So it is hard to get access to deer, turkey or bear. But if you want to hunt your own meat, a lot of people will beg you to keep the wild invasive pigs from tearing up their farms and native lands. Wild pig is a much leaner meat than farmed. The older boars are nasty tasting though. You can still make sausage up to a point.
