    Hiking, Walking :

    Do you do it?

    I think it's the best all around workout going. It's easy to do, just load up a small pack and hit the trail. I carry an old ski pole that I found at a second hand store to move snakes out of my way, a backpack with a small first aid pack, some paracord, a lighter, flashlight, a brimmed hat, a small knife, and sometimes a machete. Usually three or four days a week.

    Man, I really miss it sometimes but I do good to hobble around on the sidewalk for a short distance these days.

    There is one trail at Morrow Mountain State Park that is easy for most of the way but before it ends it gets a bit more difficult and passes thru a large stand of mockernut hickory trees. At the end I would climb down the rocks to the river where I could see the lazy people fishing at the boat launch in the distance and never catching a thing.

      Once back when I was experimenting with wild edibles I gathered a bunch of those mockernut hickory nuts and made a pie with them using a pecan pie recipe. It was good but not as good as pecan.

        I used to trek for miles. Not so much any more since I popped my achilles.
