So I was snacking on celery and peanut butter for a morning snack and decided peanut butter is likely the best thing to go with other food such as celery or apples. I use it for cheap protons. Look at what peanut butter has to offer per two table spoons:
Calories: 190 (not bad to fill you up)
Protons: 7 grams (gains)
Fats: 16 grams (but is mostly healthy fats)
carbs: 8 grams (keeps you full)
Its a pretty cheap caloric rich food source for SHTF and TEOTWAWKI.
