    I'm getting a new saw

I am ordering a DW715 Dewalt miter saw tonight. I went through all the reviews today and picked this one. It seemed to rank in the top 3 most everywhere. Gonna take my wood working to the next level.

I have to clean up the garage and I'm going to tear down a bench and build new benches around most of it. I might take some pics of the progress and post here.

My favorite part is finishing. I'm getting stoked to get out there and start building stuff.

    Very cool.

Nothing like getting a new toy. Uh. I mean tool. 😉
A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!

DeWalt makes good stuff, they haven't cheesed out like Makita. Finish work is my weak spot. My miter saw is a Delta, actually.

You do the old school style when woodworking? With hidden dowels and keyed joints?

No...I dont screw with biscuits and dowels, they're really not needed, glue will holdjust as good without a biscuit. Dovetails are alittle out of my skillset.

When glued properly, the wood will break before the glue gives way, much like a proper weld

I have used biscuits and dowels on some stuff I made. I actually prefer to use a tiny brad nail and glue.

Kreg makes a jig that lets you use screws. You can do projects with that jig where the screws are hidden and add some glue and your good to go.

I brought a Bosch Mitre saw for myself as an xmas pressy seeing as Im doing so much house renovating at the moment.
I looked at Dewalt but they carry a hefty price tag here so decided against it even though it was a far better saw.
Im a huge fan of Hitachi but they come at a massive cost also and couldnt warrant spending that kind of money.

A good miter saw has been on my list for quite some time.
