    Underground Construction

I am on the cusp of being able to buy a property that I am going to turn into my homestead.

This may be a little weird, but I plan on living at this place for the rest of my life. Then leaving it to my family, if I ever have one. 😕

Im looking for properties that have big hills, water source and it remote.

The reason I want a big hill is because I plan on my home being underground.

I have done years of research but I want to throw this out here and see what y'all know that can help me.

I have been saving a long time. So I have a good amount of money. its going to be expensive but I plan on this home being in my family for generations.

What I want to know is the following.

Since I plan on building underground, should I buy a property with a rock hill or a dirt hill?

i know the dirt will be easier to dig into. But it also is less protective.

Ive looked at a few old mines thinking that it would be easier since the hole is already started.

I've also thought about using a dirt hill, excavating down into it, build, then re cover it.

The home I have plans for is not huge. It's three bedrooms, two bath, with a kitchen/dining room, large storage area, mechanical room, recreation/den, and gun/prep room.

What do you think? Rock or Dirt?
A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!

No woman in her right mind wants to raise a family in an underground house. Build a regular house with a nice shelter under it.

That is definitely a problem. But with correct construction it can be cut down upon.

Meh. That's like your opinion, man. You may be right though. But that is the least of my worries.

In all actuality, my plans have an entry house at the entrance. Basically a garage and etc above ground, or in reality on the side of the hill.

In closing, when you have lived in an underground home then come and talk to me. 🖕🏻😁🖖

So does anyone have any knowledge about the advantage vs disadvantage of rock vs dirt?

I think the straw ones blow down easily........ the ones out of sticks seem to crumble too..... rocks now...... that might work.

I don't take too much of this seriously, but if you do decide to try this, take full advantage of the earth and save yourself some heating and cooling bills.........

                Let’s Go Brandon!!!!!

I know rock is stronger and etc.

but im wondering is it worth the extra money it takes to go that right. Is there any thing other than protection that it gives. From my research rock and dirt are not that much different in the keeping the home cool and etc.

I got my plans/blue prints back in a month or so ago.

Just sold old a piece of land I had I was going to use but decided against it.

Ive found a couple of good properties.

Just can can decide on the rock vs dirt thing. I would much rather have the rock I think because of protection it offers. But from some of the quotes I have it is double the expense. I'm wondering if it is worth it.

I guess you have a point. I haven't lived underground. I chose to be a normal person that isn't afraid of the sky falling. Don't worry, a lot of us were/are stuck in the survivalistboards.com,weirdo shit. Being a pepper is fine. Just don't be one of the lunatics on doomsday preppers.

You need a woman to pull you out of the shit.

one of the properties I've looked at is an old mine. It has a spring that starts inside the mine, and flows for a couple of miles once it exits. It's a big mine. But I could make it work. there is a pond it makes inside the mine that the water is blue and clear and has quite a lot of fish in it. My current plans would not work with it though. I would have to redo a lot of stuff.

What you need to do is dig a big ditch. A river of freedom! A river of hope. A river which runs from coast to coast that cuts us off from the 47 states of wastrels and bad influcences to the north. We are going to cut Florida off from the mainland of our oppressors and float out to sea! Then, the nation of Florida will be free to start over.

There're be no long-ass lines at the Long Flume or Pirate Ship ride when I take over! You and the kids will be able to ride the rides all day! We will have a rollercoaster for each and every Florida family!
This sig didn't cost me any money.
