Funny you mention this. I have gotten 2 silver quarters in the last week. I think I have about 20 of them now.

Every time I go to Baja, I make sure to stop at the bank and exchange dollars for pesos...lots of them.
Even today it's not uncommon to find a silver 5 pesos coin.
You can end up with a few almost each time you exchange from a bank.
Sixty four percent silver, not bad.
I think they were minted 1951-1954, but the 1954 is a bit rare.

Buy a little wood burning stove with the usb charger and flexlight. Then you can still peruse the web when you've gone dark.

A penny saved is a penny earned.

A penny melted is a nickle earned.

It is also a federal offense. Do not say I didn't warn you.

Loved pennies on the track. I was told it could de-rail a train. 100 pennies shortly after and no excitement.

Defacing currency isn't a crime. Trying to turn a nickle into a $10 bill is.

I remember in the 7th grade, a kid was drawing on a one dollar bill, the teacher saw it, and literally a few minutes later two guys in suits showed up to talk to him. They called him out into the hall for a few minutes. My desk faced the door so I saw the two men, and they weren't from our school. I never asked him what they said, because I was a teenager and didn't give a fuck at the time.

I think it would be impossible to make up a story that sounds that ridiculous. But I witnessed the whole thing.
