One time while at anchor in the Gulf, me and a few others grabbed MWR fishing poles and headed to the fantail.
A Chief buddy of mine from Arizona (important note), stood beside me when I hooked into a fish.
I'm a novice on salt water fish, but I've seen things you know like tv, mags etc.
This fish about 3 feet long jumps out of the water and I tell him "I think I caught a baracuda". Friend goes no that's a (what ever he called it).
OK keep reeling, and fish jumps again. I said "that looks like a baracuda". He says the same fish as he did before.
What do I know I'm from Arkansas. So I reel the fish up the side of the ship and flipped him over the lifelines to the deck.
Fish is a flopping with a mouth full of razor blades and I go, "you sure that's not a baracuda". He goes yeah your right, that's a baracuda.
Morale to the story, don't listen to someone from a desert State about fishing!
