                            I'm curious to see if anything comes of the army evaluation of some mystery .270/6.8 cartridge to replace both the 5.56 ar and some machine guns.


                            I've been saying for decades that they should have just necked the 7.62 nato down to a .270-08 or a 7mm-08 if they wanted something with less weight and recoil as well as a longer effective range than the 7.62 nato.


                            I figure it would fit just fine in the original ar10 being a wildcat of the 7.62 nato.

                              They have been saying this for years. Rumor is the new 6.8 might just end up in use for a special roles.
