Went to my first gun club meeting

Last night and as I expected, I was the only woman.

When I walked in, the guys were throwing out a few F bombs and making the you suck, I suck nothing chit chat you guys do when you're alone. They froze, I laughed, and told them to continue on, I was used to that fucking shit and a whole lot worse, thanks to you guys

I was glad to see another lefty there.

They rent out the downstairs of a gun club for 2.5 hours each month, starting next month and after a membership fee of $25 for one year, I have a place to shoot that will only cost me $4. Sweet!

I asked if any of their women came to meeting or to shoot. After an awkward pause, they told me they came there to get away from their women. I asked if I should leave and it was funny watching them fall all over themselves.

They hold a turkey shoot in the Fall. I wasn't sure what that meant and was relieved to hear they don't actually shoot turkeys

Turkey shoots are shotgun shooting comps where the person with a hole closest to the center of the target gets a prize. Usually meat, cheese or money. At least from my experience that's what it is.
