..but the fact of the matter is that they have always had to be fought for. So while they may come naturally, the state always seems to want to take issue with them.
Most of us see guns as an extension of the right of self defense and preservation that all creatures are born with, but as far as guns or any other rights go, the state can restrict them at anytime with the stroke of a pen, and do so all the time. This is why vigilance is required by the people.

By the time my daughter graduates high school, 99% of guns will be banned in the U.S.
Single shot rifles and shotguns will be about the only obtainable weapons for "the people". Sure, there may be a lot of talk, but no one is actually going to stop it from happening. When the S.A.F.E. act was passed here, I heard so much talk about how no one would stand for it. It would be repealed or there would be bloodshed. Marches on Albany, armed takeovers, all out war was going to happen.
Even my wife became a very serious 2A activist. We met with senators, representatives, potential candidates, etc. She worked so closely with NYSRPA, SCOPE, the NRA, etc. Trying to do it all the right and legal way. What happened? People started being arrested. People were being charged with felonies.Then the gubernatorial election happened and we go our first taste of the orange douche known as "The Donald". It's funny how soon people forgot about how he fucked the election up. The outcome? Cuomo was reelected. The S.A.F.E. act is still in place. Some things have changed about the law, but it's still in full effect. Aside from rallys, no one took Albany. No one started a war. No one really did anything other than bitch about it.
They will be banned soon. NY isn't just some state filled with a bunch of hipsters. I live in an area where there are a ton of good ol rednecks. Pck up trucks and camo, wood chopping, knuckle busting good ol boys. Same people as everywhere else. There are some ultra conservative states that will try to fight it for a while, but it will happen anyway. There will be no war (for this reason). People will bitch, but that will be it.
