I make big knives because that is what folks want. Personally, I carry small knives. My fixed blades are generally around 4 inches and my current folder is less than 2 inches

A small folder in my pocket, a mora (or similar) on my side and a machete nearby, and I'm set for camping.

Good choices. I like a parang style machete, though I'm more prone to an entrenching tool

Never used one, but they look functional.

If you get a chance, try it and you'll never look back

Cold Steel frontier bowie, but with a drop point and a bit of a double edge for a couple inches. Maybe a double tooth saw on half of the spine down closest to the handle.

Fwiw, my most used knife is a 2" neck knife I made from an old butter knife, My most loved knife is a 9" chopper the wife bought me for Yule a few years ago (it makes me feel better about my small penis)...........

For backpacking trips a Kershaw Cryo pocketknife, and a Buck 065 fixed blade. For camping add a Snow and Nealley 24 inch axe, and I'm all set.

If you have a big knife you can baton with it, if you have a small knife you can use an axe. Guess which person your ancestors are laughing at?

The one using the axe rather than a chain saw?

The one using the chainsaw instead of just calling for a propane refill.
