I'm seeing this band on Friday (10/28)

    Meshuggah

Should be a pretty good show. A few of my buddies and I are driving to Chicago, got a couple hotel rooms across the street from the venue. I'm excited.

Fuck, right on man! I have never saw them, but if I had the chance, I would!

It's not the size of the dog, in the fight. It's the size of the fight, in the dog.

No guts, no glory. All pain, and fury.

My son had asked us to go to something tonight. Turns out to be a Van Morrison tribute band.

                      They dont suck.

the sax player is pretty decent, and the lead guitarist is pretty good.
                      Let’s Go Brandon!!!!!

Nice. Did they play brown eyed girl? My favourite. Yes. I admit it. I AM that much of a cliche.

Oh yes. They did all his best stuff including "have I told you lately that I love you?"

i didnt realize that that was even his song.

Show was fun. Chicago was in a buzz because of the world series, luckily that was on the other side of the city. Hotel wasn't happy because I reserved well before they knew the game would be there that night. They put us in a downgraded room hoping we wouldn't complain, but I managed to get %25 off the final bill.

After we dropped our bags off we had dinner at the House of Blues restaurant. Managed to convince our waiter to as if we could go in to the hall and they ended up giving us a whole tour of the place because we had VIP tickets. We got to see the stage being set up and got access to the VIP bar. It was some small back room completely decorated in salvaged material from a hindu temple in india. Inscents burning everywhere and all these little rooms with group in hanging out drinking. When doors opened we were brough to a roped off area that had stools along a railing stage right. The seats were labeled with our names and the security would talk to all the VIPs that way he knew who to kick off the stools.

First band was High on Fire. They were good, more like a rock metal with a Clutch / Black Sabbath feel. I wore ear plugs the whole time so my ears were fresh for Meshuggah.
