    MMORPG anyone?

    Any other geeks out there?

I cut my teeth online gaming teeth on Quake2 then Q3 moved onto MMORPG's EQ1 first I grew up fast and elevated to EQ2, tried my hand at WoW but it was no comparison to EQ2, tried various "free" games over the years Star Wars, Guildwars, Guildwars2, Lord of the ring etc etc anything with pvp, all paled by comparison then I found Aion, played for a lil while then lost interest NOW I've just finished downloading Aion again and started EQ2 download plan on getting a 3 month all access pass.

I mainly get the urge to game during the winter months, no idea why I'm out and about just as much as any other time. Anyone else wanna come out the closet so to speak?

I looked for pvp and all the vids I saw was dueling, is there any open world pvp? I'll have a better look at it though.

I bought a set of headphones the day Dragon Age Inquisitions came out. They sat unused until my son got the latest COD. I love gaming, sometimes I will play for more than 15 hours straight. I was too self-conscious to be bested by a bunch of 10 year olds online, which is why the headphones were unused. Skyrim has always been my favorite but it's been a year or two since I played.

I haven't been on DCUO since the beginning of September. The reason, is because they really fucked up PVP. I am mostly a PVP player (highest tier gear set-fully modded).

The devs decided that they needed to make PVP more appealing to "free to play" players, so they made one piece of gear worthless in open world environment. That took my combat rating from over 100 down to 34 (in OW). In PVP arena, they buff down strong characters to make it more of a fair fight when a newb or weak player ques up. When they did that, they fucked it up. Cheaters figured out how to exploit the buff and would come in wearing all or mostly PVE gear with a PVP weapon. Even a highest tier PVP'er can't stand a chance against that. It buffs your character down so much that you might as well not have the gear.

It's incredibly frustrating because getting the highest tier of PVP gear takes hundreds of hours. Playing for 3-4 hours a day every day, it takes about 2 weeks to gain a full set of gear.

Most full time players abandoned PVP and built up their PVE side. I just don't have much interest in the PVE side. They have done at least 2 major updates since I stopped playing. They may have fixed it by now. Until I know for sure though, I will not renew my membership. I have spent over a grand on that game and they basically said "oh well, fuck the loyal PVPers".

It's still huge. Massive servers. Lot's of players. It is a fun game. The PVE side is pretty well built, and they may have fixed PVP..I don't know. PVP used to be incredible. It was so much fun.

I played COD for a while but didnt do to well.
Played war commander for a few years and had a really good rep in that. I was in the top 2% until all the hackers and cheats came along and ruined the game.
Had alot of fun in world of tanks but sucked majorly.
