Bit long winded you might just wanna skip to the end and comment.
I bought a couple of UK legal (3" or less nonlocking blade) pocket knives as gifts for a friend and his wife, Imperial Shrade Sodbuster Mini. Went to the post office to post as we'd got a couple of Ebay sales to get off also, the clerk asked me what was in the 1st package Computer games was the reply, all smiles from both sides of the counter I was in an awesome mood I'd finished work for the weekend.
Come to my package,
Clerk: whats in the package?
Me: 2 pocket knives.............
Her smile disappeared and she stepped back from the counter,
Me: whats the matter??
Clerk: *mutters something about not being allowed to post weapons*
Me: WTF?
Wife: Calm down
Me: WTF?
Clerk: Checking list of illegal/ prohibited items and calls her supervisor over.
Me: It's not a weapon it's a pocket knife
Clerk: yeah but it could be used as a weapon, couldn't it?
Me: So can a bloody pen and they're a damnsite easier to hide. It's not a weapon it's a pocket knife, it's perfectly legal to own and carry, I received them in the post 2 days ago, they're still sealed in box inside the padded envelope. I have a similar one in my pocket if you'd like to see (I was in my work cloths) they're non-locking under 3" blade I can't afford to carry an illegal knife.
*Muttering from the queue behind me*
Clerks boss is on the phone.
Clerk looks up from her list as can't find anything saying they can't ship them.
Clerks boss gets off the phone and says they can ship them if they are legal to own............ I'm kinda pissed off by now paid for 1st class delivery (They arrived next day).
Last time I sent a knife in the post I was sending it for a regrind and listed it as Bushcraft tool (5" blade) I was really kinda put out after my experience friday, fucking muppet bitch
