    Turkey Corn Chowder

    Cooked turkey yesterday.

saved the drippings for broth/ soup starter also had 2 ears of corn extra

So....... Chop up 2 cups of turkey (i prefer the legs and thighs)

put in 4 cups of broth, you can substitute or add to it with chicken broth

    add 1 cup rice

boil 2 eggs peel and chop up. add them.

cut corn off of the cob

add 1 clove garlic minced and half an onion also minced

boil it all together for 10 minutes or so till the rice is soft.

take 1 tablespoon of flour and mix it in a small bowl of cold broth, then add it to the soup.

last ingredient, put in 2 tablespoons of sour cream.

I have a bought spice mix I like called Tony Chachere's Original CREOLE Seasoning, I put in about a teaspoon

    salt to taste

adjust broth/ flour amounts to get the thickness you prefer.

To mex it up, add cumin, allspice, cilantro on top when served. They would probably use peas rather than corn though.

I actually cooked something last weekend. I made steak soup. I was a little leery about the top round steak. I remember my mother making round steak and beating it with a cleaver forever and a day. Then trying to chew that piece of leather -- ugh!

But in the crockpot, the top round was SO tender. Better than any high dollar steak I've had

Sell Mexican Poutine, I believe I have a recipe all done up for you.

PS-I eyeball the ingredients, I don't measure when I cook; only when I bake.
