See, I think Trump is not to blame. I understand your point, but if the conservatives had been given a voice anywhere else, then Trump would not have any draw at all.

The big money guys who own the republican brand have been ignoring conservatives for so long, Jeb Bush even bragged that he could win the nomination with no support from any right wingers or conservatives.

So after being left out and ignored the right began to look for representation. Somewhere, Anywhere.

It is why Ross Perot had pull. It is why Ron Paul had pull. Glen Beck's popularity, Tea party, 3 Percenters

If the party had listened to us at all, then we wouldn't have latched on to Trump.

A lot of people criticized Trump saying he was "Saying what they want to hear." Maybe... but that means he recognized what we wanted to hear, and felt it was worth chasing our vote.

That puts him head and shoulders above a party that brags that "our votes don't count" and they can nominate whomever the big money players decide to back.
