I think that the timeline of the documentary encompasses the past history of the monarchy. Whether they touch upon anything other than linens and tapestries, I don't know.

Monarchies, being a form of government, and, with politics dealing with the interactions of people, and with quite a bit of that interaction happening in the bedroom, it seems reasonable to conclude that it has something to do with politics.

I understand that the role of the monarchy is not what it once was, but I would bet that there is politics involved even now.
