    Ted Cruz keeps his word.

    Good ol Ted came through.

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) today proposed an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to impose term limits on members of Congress. The amendment would limit U.S. senators to two six-year terms and members of the U.S. House of Representatives to three two-year terms.

Cruz and DeSantis’ amendment introduced in the Senate was co-sponsored by Sens. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.), Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), and David Perdue (R-Ga.)

Good luck with this, you'll need it to reign in the corruption.

I wonder if he's just creating material for his stump speech in 2020. I would love for this to happen, I just don't see any possible way that congress would vote against it's own interest.

If they pass term limits then there will be even more former legislators getting lifetime benefits so we need to deal with that first.

That's a microscopic sum compared to the outrageously expensive insurance we are forced to buy to foot the bill for the uninsured illegals that kill someone while driving drunk and don't pay for medical care.

True but two wrongs don't make a right. Cut them all off.

That is exactly what the Confederate Constitution says. The president serves one six year term.

I'm not sure what it says, but I don't believe any of them should be sitting for more than one term

The President of the Confederate States of America is to be elected by electors, chosen by the individual states, for a single six-year term, rather than an unlimited (at that time) number of four-year terms. Article 2 Section 1(1) reads as: "The executive power shall be vested in a President of the Confederate States of America. He and the Vice President shall hold their offices for the term of six years; but the President shall not be re-eligible."[7]
