    Trump promises better VA

Trump promised a vet that he would pressure the VA to help him better. But then he said he is in favor of allowing vets to go to a private doctor if the wait at the VA is too long. I think this is one of the best promises ANY candidate has made.
The VA isn't able to keep up with the demand, and a lot of times the soldiers have a very long wait to be seen as compared with normal doctor visits.

Seems like common sense to me. Set a standard rule, if a vet calls for an appointment and can't get one for X number of days, then he can see his local doctor or go to a walk-in clinic.

I hope whomever is elected will consider fixing this.

If I had a penny for every promise a politician never kept beyond the oath of office, I would be as rich as Trump.

Then I would promise you things will be different when I am elected.

I would never imagine a slick businessman that has businesses that cater to the ultra wealthy would seek higher office for any other reason than to make the USA a stronger country. No way man.

I think when he's proven he's competent to take care of a haircut, I might imagine he's competent to run a country.

I am not trying to campaign for him. I have my own opinion about someone who has amassed such a fortune. Frankly he is cutthroat, opportunist, greedy, driven, and committed. Perfect politician material so he is no different from any of the others.

What I will give him is that our country has some hard choices about MONEY to make. Can we give everything to everyone for free on the Bernie Sanders plan? OR do we tighten up and be realistic about finances and get someone with some business sense in office? In that respect, I would lean towards him.

But he is not my first choice of who is running. I just think his accomplishments lend themselves to our need a little.

For profit hospitals will love to get their hands on all that federal cash.

I guess Trump wants to improve the VA so he can get his heel spurs treated from his military school deployment.

Donald Trump did not serve in the military, but according to a report, the Republican presidential candidate and multibillionaire business tycoon said in a forthcoming book that he still "always felt that I was in the military" because he attended a military boarding school and "dealt with those people."
According to an upcoming biography and interview excerpts shared with The New York Times, Trump said that his five years at the New York Military Academy provided him with "more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military."

Trump, who received multiple draft deferments and a high draft lottery number during the Vietnam War, took off a shoe to explain the heel spurs that prompted the medical deferments. The Vietnam war, he added, "was a mistake."

Jim Webb 2016! Hard to argue with having a U.S. Marine as president.

Most likely the best way to fix the va is to either get rid of the whole system. Let vets not have to make long drives , or their families to visit them. Or maybe take 20 billion from the huge defense budget each year and create a system the vets actually deserve. Not sure if the defense contractors would let that happen. Maybe if they got rid of the system and defense contractors could make money off treating vets.

The va has always kinda sucked. My grandpa never got the treatment he deserved. He even moved within ten miles of it, to be able to use it better. My uncles who used it. Constantly bitched about it. Vets using it now bitch about it. Maybe it's time to get rid of most of the system. Keep a few rehab places. Let vets use the normal hospital like everyone else. I think that Is what many want to do. End the driving nightmare and poor service.
