    Too Long Forgotten

In 1959, the United States finally succeeded in sending monkeys into space and bringing them home alive. Two years before any humans, Able and Baker were launched about 360 miles up and experienced about nine minutes of weightlessness.

    I don't know.

Thank you, Able and Baker, and all the animals who've been launched into space. It is through you heroism and selfless sacrifice (albeit unaware and no doubt an extremely stressful time) that mankind has been able to step on the moon and journey to the stars. Each of us who've watched a space launch in awe, who've wondered at photos of stellar vistas and galaxies, who've held their breath as we orbit to places beyond our dreams, owe you all a debt of gratitude.

Yes thank you heroic monkeys, for pioneering weapons in space, spying on innocents with satellites, polluting our atmosphere with toxic rocket fuel, having millions of tons of space junk just waiting to come down and squish my noggin, and allowing our new fangled communication and information networks to let every friggen company out there to know what porno I watch.
I like to keep things in perspective!
        Screw diplomacy...........bring it!
