I Think That Some Of You Are Probably Really Nice People...

But, I'm sorry to tell you this, if you are even considering voting for Bernie Sanders, chances are, you are insane.

Please turn yourself in to the nearest facility.

I will not discuss this with you, because you are insane.

It's probably not your fault. Don't feel bad, but please seek help. You are a danger to those around you.

    Please.
    I don't know.

Neither the old geezer nor the old hag will get my vote. Not because they are old.

Not feeling the burn, so not voting for him.
But in his defense I must say, bad machines don't know they are bad machines.

There's only one time a culture as a whole became more conservative, and that was in Iran when we helped Islamic nationalist overthrow the government.

Otherwise civilization will become increasingly more liberal with respect to time. Sanders may not win this election, but someone like him will at one point or another.

We did what? I'm pretty sure the US was supporting the guy who got kicked out by the Islamists (the Shah) and was seriously pissed when the Islamic revolution happened. Then the whole hostage dealy, Death to America, all that. The US helped the Shah overthrow the government in 1953, maybe you're thinking of that.

That must be what I was thinking, and I got it mixed up with the revolution. Anyways, the iranian revolution is the only instance I'm aware of where a nation became more conservative due to political change.

Plymouth Plantation moved from a communal/socialist structure after they all started starving. Once people were responsible for there own survival, and allowed to accumulate their own property, the community became a success.

I offer this merely as historical fact, not as part of a debate.

I suppose, if your definition of moving toward conservatism is away from socialism, you could include the downfall of the Soviet Union, the first large scale socialist experiment. Or China's move toward a mixed economy. Or, on a smaller scale, any of the failed socialist communes of the 19th century.
