The original recordings of the first humans landing on the moon 40 years ago were erased and re-used, but newly restored copies of the original broadcast look even better, NASA officials said on Thursday.

Edit: Keep in mind that all the moon missions would have had to pass through these radiation belts, but now NASA says that they need to study them more before sending humans through them.

If for some reason we did not land on the moon I would forever feel ashamed of my country. Space and its related fields are one of my favorite things. I so hope it wasn't fake. But there has been some convincing stuff I've seen over the years that say it is. But then again, I still believe we did it. I have to. Because America!

Think about it. In the 70's they had a remote controlled camera that they could control from earth? They were still using 8 track tapes. Disco hadn't even been invented yet.
