    Drone racing

Have you guys seen this stuff? It looks like a lot of fun, and I'm sure having drone skills & equipment could be useful. Especially if you own a lot of land.

I bought a drone to play with awhile back. They're very cool.
    What?

I think drones would be good for tying ropes up in trees.
      I don't know.

I got a cheap drone this morning. I've already got it caught in the GFs hair and its now in the neighbors gutter.

Oh yeah, this might become my thing. I'll make us in to a drone forum for fiscal conservative whack jobs

I got one of these. I'm starting to be able to actually fly it. As in I can fly it away from me and then turn and come back. That's a big step. the left stick controls yaw and fan speed. I'm not really a huge fan of that. I assume the nice hobbiest radios are customizeable?

drones are hair magnets, make sure you wear your hair up around them. they are no joke, they migrate straight to long hair and start spinning.

I spent the weekend reading up on these racing drones. They're pretty affordable as a hobby to build an entry level quad but you'll need to invest in a radio and a first person view system like goggles or monitor screen.

Something interesting I've learned about Drone racing is the advancement of home manufacturing. One of the well known brands of drone frames are made by a dude and his wife. They have a machine to cut carbon fiber and you place orders and they make & ship you one. The drone market is EXPLODING right now and most places are selling out of everything. I think we're on the edge of a boom, similar to how "survival" suddenly became mainstream.

Well anyways, I ordered a frame and I'm going to build one of these bastards.

There's a drone racing league in Louisville that races through caverns! I'm probably going to go and watch.

I bet you $4.00 that I'm better at it than you. I've had one for awhile. I can land it on things.

What I've been told is building one is better because you're going to crash, and understanding how to do repairs is essential. Assuming you're looking at race quads.
