Properly faggot is derived version of fagot which is a bundle of sticks.

The sticks likely being the vessel as a metaphor for dicks touching, or some derivative of a stick to suck smoke (cigarette) called a fag in the UK I believe.

But you will find that the most offended are also the lowest educated and outspoken on they very issue they contest. Ask a woman if she wants equal rights and treatment as a male, then ask her what would happen if you hit her. Ask a stranger what they would think if you hit a man for having an affair with your wife, and he happened to be black. People are easily offended because they dont assess a situation, they just react without all the information.

he he he.......... A much younger version of myself was working on a 20 person team. We flew in to the area we were assigned to work, and arrived at a hotel. It should be noted that our gear for a trip usually weighed about 60 to 70 pounds (each person carried this) I got to the door first and held the door for several of the male members of the team. Nothing was said. It was expected and appreciated, but not note worthy. The female member of the team (her first time out with us) walked up and yelled "I don't need you to hold the door because I am a woman!" In response, I promptly shut the door in her face, knocking her on her ass.

The whole team laughed. It was the beginning of an interesting 2 weeks. I will tell more if any are interested.
