    #PANAMAPAPERS

11.5 million documents, 214,000 shell companies: The Panama Papers are the largest data leak journalists have ever worked with.

Over a year ago, an anonymous source contacted the Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) and submitted encrypted internal documents from Mossack Fonseca, a Panamanian law firm that sells anonymous offshore companies around the world. These shell companies enable their owners to cover up their business dealings, no matter how shady.
In the months that followed, the number of documents continued to grow far beyond the original leak. Ultimately, SZ acquired about 2.6 terabytes of data, making the leak the biggest that journalists had ever worked with. The source wanted neither financial compensation nor anything else in return, apart from a few security measures.
The data provides rare insights into a world that can only exist in the shadows. It proves how a global industry led by major banks, legal firms, and asset management companies secretly manages the estates of the world’s rich and famous: from politicians, Fifa officials, fraudsters and drug smugglers, to celebrities and professional athletes.....cont.

I think this is only the tip of the iceberg. Should get interesting.

Should be interesting is right. This is almost better than Wikileaks. We'll see how the world really operates.

I think the biggest thing that it proves is that "trickle down economics" is bullshit. These bastards get all the bailouts and tax breaks then offshore the jobs AND the damn money!

I think like most other things it does work, but not nearly as simply or as directly as described.

I wish we would to to a simply flat sales tax type of income tax with no breaks for charities or big business. It would solve so many issues,..............

I don't think simpler necessarily means better. I'm sure there's situations that a basic tax plan like a flat tax creates weird circumstances that have outcomes that no one wants.

Right, I don't think you can manage a government our size efficiently or perfectly. So there will be faults no matter where. But I believe the flat tax would fix a lot of huge issues and maybe only create small ones.

                    Just my opinion.

You hear that phone ringing forever in the background starting around the 2:33 mark? Fucker needs to get back to work and answer my customer service call.

Seriously though, this is huge. Unimaginable amounts of dirty money at play here.

The group that investigated and "released" this info was started by Soros, so excuse me if I'm more than a little suspicious of its intentions.

This isn't solely about rich people with offshore accounts. We already know that's done. Wait, watch and be suspicious.
This sig didn't cost me any money.
