So my birthday is coming up...

So my birthday is coming up, and my woman has decided to buy me things; after I told her I wanted nothing. Apparently that wasn't a real gift.

So here's what she bought me (my birthday is August 8th, but we have to order everything online, up here); a Esee 4p Knife, a Sawyer Mini, a Huqsvarna "Carpenter's" Axe, and 136' of #36 tarred Bankline. When I told a few co-workers what I was getting, they said "those are weird birthday gifts." I said "No, they're useful gifts and I will use them a lot." My one buddy, went to Vegas with his woman, and left their kid up here; for his birthday gift. I couldn't do that, I couldn't leave my kids for 2 weeks, and have "fun" in Vegas.

The things I'm getting, will help me complete our BOL (which I build with my children present), my son helps me; he carries his own backpack with snacks, diapers/wipes for his sister and himself, as well as drinks. He also helps me with the paracord and handing me tools, he's very helpful for a two and half year old.

I also bought myself a gift; a pair of Danner 8" Pronghorn boots. Expensive, but I hope they'll be a great pair of boots; hopefully better than wearing my 100lb work boots in the bush. The

My woman also bought a couple cans of pepper spray, a keychain holder for them and a pair of knuckle dusters, that are shaped like a pink cat head and look "cute", for herself.

I think she's getting the hang of this preparedness thing.

Anyone with experience with any of the items that I'm getting?

And this is a current event, so this post is in the relevant section!
It's not the size of the dog, in the fight. It's the size of the fight, in the dog.

No guts, no glory. All pain, and fury.

Nice to see a young couple on the same page with each other, and raising your kids in the outdoors is the best gift you can give them. They'll have experience and knowledge of the world that few of their peers will have a clue about. You and mommy are doing great. The world needs more like you.

Thanks, Steve and I agree, all children should have experience in the outdoors. I loved my childhood in bush and on the lakes. I hope my children will too. I know Tyr does a lot and Lux seems to enjoy napping in the bush, so I think they'll grow up loving the outdoors.

I have been teaching my woman and my children, the skills they will need for our environment and for their lives. The kids may not be able to do everything, just yet; but they will learn from watching me and see how hard I work, to teach them necessary skills and work ethic. I have found many raspberry bushes around our BOL, and have shown Tyr the plants; I have also given him the berries to eat, when he can point to them and rub his belly.

He's such a good little outdoors man, he LOVES looking at and touching everything he comes upon outdoors. I have been showing him animal tracks and edible plants, I let him wander around in the bush (as long as I can see him) and help me, by telling him what tool I need and to hand it to me. Then I show him how to use that tool and how to use it safely, he mimics me; by using using a stick, or wrapping paracord around a branch/tree.

The world will have at least two more like me/us, I know my children will grow up well and come to love the outdoors. I can tell. I'm very proud of my children, their intellect and their ability to learn at a rapid pace. Tyr can see something once and know how to do it. They're very much like myself. My Dad says that Tyr is a lot like how I was, when I was his age. Very intelligent and mischievous.

I just hope he puts his intelligence to good use, unlike myself and some of my past endeavors. I think too much knowledge, can be hard to use at times; if you know what I mean? Like using it properly and productively. It's said that there is a fine line between brilliance and insanity, I often find myself straddling that line and hoping that my children can deal with their intelligence far better than I can.

That's what I have read, they're often praised over at SB and I have done a lot of review reading on them. I hope they'll be what I am looking for.

I burst out laughing, good one!

I make it better. Your people's ripped me off the other night. I ordered 4 dishes; chicken balls, beef and broccoli, chicken fried rice and BBQ Pork Chow Mein. Only the chicken balls had substantial meat, the rest had very little and were slimy slivers of grey meat; I think it was either cat or dog that was served to me. But I'll eat anything, so I didn't mind. I just didn't enjoy the cost; $64ish for 4 small dishes, with hardly any meat.

Can you do something about this mishap? The delivery driver's name was Tim Can, he said to enjoy my meal; with a smirk on his face. I think he had something to do with my meal. But I gave him a hefty tip, any way.

I know you're a good fellow Mayaca. I just got my Baofeng, after how many months of waiting? Fuckin' ebay. Maybe you could help me out with setting it up? If you wouldn't mind. I would really appreciate your knowledge with them. You guys know this technical shit pretty well. I'm a complete tech-tard. I barely know how to start up my computer. My peers laugh at me, because my face isn't glued to my phone screen or my computer screen 24/7. They think I'm a fool. I think otherwise.

EDIT: I also didn't know chicken's had such big balls! WOW!

First, Tim is a dick. No one likes him. Next time go to the shop, and tell Kupunawahine. She will beat his ass.

The Baofeng............. you have to order the programming cable, and the software. Listed below I show the ones I bought. Yes, the cheaper one is the software and comes with a free piece of shit cable. Do yourself a favor and buy it then toss out the cable and buy the good one I listed below.

Ok, I haven't looked at the links yet; but I'll do so soon.

Will you refund me, if it doesn't work? I hope the shipping doesn't take months like it did, with the radio. It came straight from China. Long wait. I almost gave up on it coming.
