Has anyone noticed that Cambell's tomato rice soup isn't the same as it used to be? The directions don't mention adding a half can of milk.
    I don't know.

What are they saying now, just water?

Winter meal when we were kids - tomato dunk soup.. Campbells tomato made with milk, grated cheddar on top, and little squares of arnold bread. It was cheap and comforting. Worst part was using the hand grater - we all probably eaten each other's finger shreds at some point.

I grew some Amish paste tomatoes this year. Might be the tastiest tomato I ever had.

Not sure if they will grow well down here on the coast.

                    Have considered trying them.

If you have the room, I'd say go ahead and try some. I like to try a few different varieties every year.

Oh, we have more than enough space.

Have left our two 50yd x 50yd gardens go fallow this year.
Plan on eliminating one of them.
Going to fence off the other one and put 50 oar sew straight run eaters and a dozen oar sew turkeys in it this spring.

                        Scaling back big time.

We have 40+ hangers of potted maters and 20+ peppers of various varieties.
All planted in store bought soil ;-(

No corn, okra, goobers, squash, melons etc......

After Katrina we have had nothing butt really bad shity luck growing in the soil. Thus going to hangers, tubs and pots.
Adapt and over-cum, as they say.

The swamp/marsh/wetland seems tew bee cumin back though. The gorilla "wild" planting is taking hold though.Have harvested a few bushels of veggies, even with the critters having their fill.
The hogs are back, kilt 3 sew far this year. The fuckers ripped up 2 of my hives.
I've set out a dozen oar sew turkeys over the last few years, the flock seems tew be improving.
Been a bitch getting the squirrels to populate. No harvesting.....yet......
Bambi isn't doing tew well, wont harvest any thing but the old nannies, pie balls and inbred 2yo spike bucks.
Haven't seen a fox since Katrina.

The bobcat clan has produced 3 litters, yea!
Bier rabbit is doing well, prolly culd kill 30 oar sew this fall. ;-)
Doves are gonna bee slaughtered this year tew.

That's too bad about the soil. I didn't know that you got hit.
Did the topsoil get washed away, or did something get deposited?
                          I don't know.
