    Betelgeuse don't look right

I was just having a smoke off the back step, looking at the stars then I looked at Orion. Betelgeuse ain't right. Something is up with that big motherfucker. I just googled and nobody's saying anything yet. So you heard it here first.

It's not the size of the dog, in the fight. It's the size of the fight, in the dog.

No guts, no glory. All pain, and fury.

Betelgeuse is at the end of it's life and could explode at any time. When it does it may be an impressive sight in the skies that people will talk about for generations or the last thing anyone sees as the atmosphere is torn off our planet. One of those.

I'm pretty sure it hiccuped tonight.

Just went out for another smoke and it looked normal, then doubled in brightness for a few seconds. It's flaring or something.

15% of it's volume, correct. It's collapsing in on itself but fast. It's fixing to go boom.

Not right away, google tells me this boom will be spectacular but not enough to kill us all. Of course, what do they know? It's not like something this big has ever happened in human history. I'm thinking it'll be somewhere in the middle. A second sun in the sky for a few weeks, everyone survives then we all die of ass cancer three years later.

It's next door to us. We're lucky it's a red giant and not a blue giant. A blue giant 500 light years away going supernova would rip the atmosphere off the planet and boil the oceans off into space.
