I have mixed feelings on the play. If the SS didn't get hurt, it wouldn't have been an issue. This play happens all the time and the rules are hardly ever enforced. I blame it on MLB for not strictly enforcing the rules that the player sliding has to be making an attempt to get to the base. I guess the existing rule is "you can go out of the baseline and take out the 2B or SS but if he gets hurt you'll be suspended and if he doesn't get hurt, then you're good".
